Month 13
A stage-based navigation system for menopause and post-menopause—where prevention, power, and possibility begin.

What is Month 13?
Month 13 is a proprietary program owned by Reframe Health Culture, LLC and implemented by Project Nana, Inc. to support women and clinicians through post-menopause with clear stages, evidence-based tools, and culturally grounded care. Menopause is not the end of the story—it’s a moment in time. Month 13 begins after 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period, the point clinicians call the Final Menstrual Period (FMP).
From Month 13 forward, a woman is post-menopausal—a stage that can last for decades and profoundly shapes her:
-
Bone health
-
Brain health
-
Heart health
-
Pelvic health

Who Is Month 13 For?
Seasoned Women (“Nanas”)
-
You’ve gone 12 months without a cycle—or you think you’re close.
-
You’re noticing changes in sleep, mood, weight, joints, bladder, or sex.
-
You want to understand what’s happening to your body and how to protect your health for the long haul.
Clinicians & Health Systems
-
You’re looking for a structured, stage-based framework to discuss menopause and post-menopause.
-
You want to integrate bone, brain, heart, and pelvic health into one visit.
-
You need culturally responsive tools to better serve Black women and other women of color, who often experience earlier and more severe symptoms.
Month 13 provides shared language, education, and tools for both women and providers.
The Month 13 Pillars of
Lifelong Health
Bone Health
Early rapid bone loss can increase fracture risk. Month 13 teaches women and clinicians how to use DEXA scans, strength training, vitamin D, and fall-prevention strategies to protect skeletal health.
Heart Health
Heart disease becomes the leading cause of death after menopause. Month 13 emphasizes blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, and movement as core prevention targets.
Brain
Health
Estrogen changes can affect memory, focus, sleep, and mood. Month 13 provides tools for sleep hygiene, cognitive wellness, stress management, and when to seek evaluation.

Pelvic Health
Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM), bladder changes, and sexual discomfort are common but not inevitable. Month 13 normalizes conversations about vaginal estrogen, pelvic floor therapy, lubrication, and red-flag symptoms like post-menopausal bleeding.
